Volkswagen is planning to put CarPlay in nearly all of its 2016 vehicles in the United States, thanks to its all-new MIB II infotainment system that will be available later this year.

While some auto-makers like Ford have been resistant to letting Apple take the wheel with its infotainment systems, Volkswagen of America CEO Michael Horn says his company recognizes it’s “important to democratize these technologies across the Volkswagen line-up…ensuring that more consumers can integrate their smart devices in a wide range of trims on virtually every model the company sells.”

VW’s MIB II infotainment systems use a feature called App-Connect that provides seamless smartphone integration with CarPlay as well as Android Auto and MirrorLink, so you don’t have to worry about your smartphone being compatible with your car if you ever decide to switch.

The first 2016 VW models featuring the MIB II system are scheduled to roll into dealership showrooms by the end of July.
